Fylert Beta Terms of Service
Fylert is currently provided as a Beta release. It is intended for evaluation and testing. Features, behavior and availability may change at any time without notice.
Use of the software
You may use Fylert to check Office documents locally on your computer. You agree to use the software in accordance with applicable law and not to misuse it.
No warranty
The software is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Fylert is a detection aid; it does not guarantee that every risk will be found or that your files are safe to send.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the providers of Fylert shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the software.
Feedback
Feedback is sent only after you choose a helpful or not-helpful option. The request is limited to that selection, app version and platform, and may be used to improve the product.
Usage Metrics
Usage Metrics require a separate opt-in after the first completed scan. If allowed, each completed scan may send one aggregate metric containing the total number and size of deeply scanned files, DOCX/XLSX/PPTX counts, scan duration, app version and platform. These metrics do not include file names, file paths, document contents, specific scan results, user IDs or device IDs, and can be turned off in Settings.
Product Analytics
Product Analytics uses a separate first-launch choice. Clicking Continue allows Product Analytics and sends one app-launch event; while allowed, one app-launch event is sent on each later app launch. A user-initiated update check may also send an update-check event. Events contain only the applicable event type, platform, app version and, for app-launch events, language setting. They do not include document data, scan results, user IDs or device IDs, and Product Analytics can be turned off in Settings.
Other online services
Opening Settings may request plain-text announcements, and user-initiated feedback may contact Fylert's service. The current Beta version check uses bundled mock data. Document contents are not uploaded for any of these services.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
